DUBYA PLANS FOR REGIME CHANGE IN COMMIEVILLE CUBA

Although I am slowly beginning to accept that Bush, a grown man and the occupant of the President's seat, gets raging hard-ons when he fantasizes about world leaders getting brown noses from his derriere, I don't understand how this guy is the fucking President. He is now advocating "regime change" in Cuba.

He wants to set up a committee that will explore ideas for a transition to Liberal Democracy in Cuba.

Secretary of State Colin Powell and Housing Secretary Mel Martinez will chair a panel that will "plan for the happy day when Castro's regime is no more and democracy comes to the island," Bush said during a Rose Garden ceremony.

"The transition to freedom will present many challenges to the Cuban people and to America, and we will be prepared," the president said.

A Rose Garden Ceremony? What the hell is so cermonial about another double dose of extreme U.S. imperialism in Cuba. A matter of fact, if the United States were not so aggressively pro-fascist in Cuba (because the Fascist Bautista protected U.S. moneyed interests there) then perhaps the whole Commieville Cuban Revolution thing could have been avoided.

I do not understand how such a small band of people in south Florida dictate completely irrational policies like the ones the U.S. Government has in Cuba. The specific Cuban exiles who Bush is catering to are living for the day when they can reassert their social dominance over the Cuban's who did not have the luxury to leave that island. Cuba is not a nice place right now, but south Florida is a little bit more habitable if you're rich, want to pay lower taxes than your poor counterparts and want a life that will guarantee you freedom from Fidel's antagonism.

Cuba is a beautiful country that can be a force for democracy in the future, but the Cubans who can empathize with the grief and suffering of the Cuban people (who happen to live IN CUBA) are those who should inherit the reigns of power there. Fuck the bastards who inspired a popular uprising against Bautista and the rich elites like themselves by keeping opportunity locked away from normal Cubans....

I know it's a bit ranty, but I'm feeling like that right now.... Have a good weekend all, I'm off for a beer.

SOME MORE ON CONSERVATIVE HACK RUSH LIMBAUGH'S DRUG ADDICTION
"Immediately following this broadcast, I am checking myself into a treatment center for the next 30 days to once and for all break the hold this highly addictive medication has on me. The show will continue during this time, of course, with an array of guest hosts you have come to know and respect.
I sort of feel bad for the guy, but why can't EVERYBODY who faces addiction do it in this manner, this is where I get angry at the conservatives' hypocrisy on this issue. Rush Limbaugh can do hillbilly heroin and go to rehab and come back to a multi-million dollar broadcast seat, and a regular guy who's hooked on crack, for instance, is thrown in jail for 5 or 10 years.

I SAY EITHER THROW RUSH IN PRISON FOR 5 OR 10, OR LET EVERYBODY GET TREATMENT, LIKE RUSH LIMBAUGH, TO BREAK THEIR HABITS.

IRANIAN REPUBLICAN REFORMER WINS NOBEL PEACE PRIZE!

TEHRAN, Iran - Moments after learning Friday that Shirin Ebadi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, the mother of the Iranian human rights lawyer prayed to Allah. Ebadi's husband, too, gave thanks for what may lie ahead.

"The reform movement is reborn," said Javad Tavassolian, the husband of Ebadi, the first Iranian and first Muslim woman to win the peace prize.

"This prize doesn't belong to me only. It belongs to all people who work for human rights and democracy in Iran," Ebadi said in Paris, where she was attending a conference.
I wish the reformers well, my thoughts are definitely with them.

ORRIN HATCH WANTS NATURALIZED CITIZENS (NOT JUST NATIVE MORN ONES) TO BE ABLE TO BE PRESIDENT!

Is he for real? Or is he just making this an issue just because Arnold won? Poor Californians....

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Orrin Hatch wants to terminate the constitutional prohibition against foreign-born citizens such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and others from becoming president.
Article II of the Constitution says that, "No Person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of president."
Hatch is seeking to amend the Constitution to remove the ban, allowing anyone who has been a citizen of the United States for two decades to run for the country's highest office.
Ha. Republicans are suddenly pro-immigrant, ha.
