That's not true! Awol is pro-life!!!

The Unites States response:

"Clearly, we're sending the message that we do have the ability to run operations across a wide area," said Lt. Col. William MacDonald of the 4th Infantry Division. "We have overwhelming combat power that we will utilize in order to go after groups and individuals who have been conducting anti-coalition activities."
Alrighty. I do remember President George "aWol" Bush talking about how the U.S. is leading the "liberation" of Iraq. Hahahaha. Well Lieutenant Colonel William MacDonald (who is in Iraq) seems to think that the U.S. Military is "running operations" over there in Iraq (ie he thinks they're runnin that shit).

President Bush and the pro-war/pro-occupation crowd seem to believe that the Iraqis think that everything is fine and dandy. They found 100 quotes of Iraqis for Liberation (with an occasional bombing and death of an innocent) and had those posted on the White House Website. (Whoops! THIS is the actual link!). Here are a few wordages, for your own personal amusement and, I dare say!, for their irony:

"We don't want patriotic education anymore. Nothing about war. We want flowers and springtime in the texts, not rifles and tanks [or aircraft carrier landings with our President wearing military flight suits!"

"We have full freedom to print anything we want. The coalition doesn't interfere in our work but, of course, we have our own red lines." -Ishtar el Yassiri, editor of the new satirical Iraqi newspaper Habez Bouz.

"There is a certain harmony. But you can not rebuild a city or country-a country destroyed by war-in one month."
Mohammed Tahar al-Abid Rabu, a member of the Mosul city council; *I'm wondering, past member, or current member?*

"Even the blind can see what Saddam Hussein did, taking Iraq into so many wars and doing little even for this town, no sports club, no decent hotels."
Wail al-Ali, Tikrit's new mayor*
Well, of course the new mayor, would say something like that!

I'll be convinced if they get an Iraqi whose daughter was blown to smitherines to say that the occupation is a good thing. If anybody like that thinks that the occupation is worth the sacrifice of his daughter just as much as some random American family thinks this invasion/conquest/occupation is worth the sacrifice of their teen son, then maybe it might be. I dare the Bushies to come up with one of THOSE.

"Let the Americans stay, they protect us. I don't see them hurting anyone."
I've had my whiff of propaganda. But, one more thing. I bet the parents of this little girl (who got caught under one of the thousands of American bombs dropped in Iraq) felt pretty damn liberated too:

As long as the U.S. bombs, guns, W.M.D.s, war planes, carriers and missiles are in Iraq, shit like this will continue to happen; as few as 7,878 or as many as 9,708 Iraqi civilians have died from the war and occupation. That count is always going up. We're working these people over at at least 3 or 4 times September 11th. The pro-war types who support this military occupation are placing the burden of punishment for the attacks of September 11, 2001 squarely on the thousands of innocent people who are being killed by American bombs on a daily basis.

Osama bin Laden roams free.

Approximately 8 or 9,000 Iraqis have been incinerated by American bombs. By tying Iraq in with the 'War on Terrorism,' The Bush Administration is creating an Iraqi community of September 11th victims with every bomb he allows to fall in that country. And he's really trying to pass this off as part of the "War on Terror"

Those who seek to kill coalition forces and innocent Iraqis want America and its coalition partners to run so the terrorists can reclaim control. The strong bipartisan show of support for this bill underscores that America and the world are united to prevail in the central front in the War on Terror by helping build a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous Iraq.
You see, they're not even ashamed that their page is raw propaganda meet for the Neo-conservative crazies.

The party line is that the terrorists are the ones who want the U.S> forces to leave so that they can take over; so no good, patriotic American could possibly ALSO want the U.S. forces to leave too!! Surely, not a single broken, devastated parent, or brother or kindergarten child of a U.S. soldier would agree with the evil, nasty, nihilistic terror goons and think, too, that the U.S. forces should leave Iraq! The White House Webpage knows its stuff when it comes to patriotism.

The truth is Bush should bring the troops home now, and give Iraqis the money, resources and wherewithal to rebuild their own country. Free of bombs, landmines, foreign oil theivezzz...err...in...vest...ors, and W.M.D.s (of course the ones the U.S. military has on hand).

The Bush Administration supports a measure that will require that every person arrested for anything (REGARDLESS OF THEIR GUILT OR INNOCENCE!!!) surrender their DNA files to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Anybody who is arrested but innocent is inherently incriminated by any justice system that requires private information like a person's genetic information.

How do these people plan on getting the DNA, anyway? Will they use spit, semen or blood? Will the right-wing KGB maniacs in Congress have the decency to add in a provision that guards against any cruel or unusual seizures of personal DNA information?!

Proponents, including the Bush administration, say that expanding the number of profiles in the database would greatly increase the number of crimes solved. Keeping DNA profiles on file to solve future crimes, they argue, differs little from maintaining a database of fingerprints, which the FBI also does.

The American Civil Liberties Union counters that DNA is different because it contains genetic information that should be kept private. Taking a person's DNA before he is even convicted, said ACLU Washington lobbyist Jesselyn McCurdy, "removes the presumption of innocence."
Damn straight it does! That's my emphasis with the underline.

Here we go again. This episode is further evidence of the paranoia complex that afflicts the conservative soul. Only somebody who assumes the guilt of more arrested individuals would presume that the people detained are the only ones that could commit the crimes that they're arrested for. If they make every arrested person, guilty or not, surrender DNA info to the FBI, and the cops still do a shitty job and leave tons of crimes unsolved, then what'll they do? Will they ask every man, woman, child, and pet--pets can be convicted of crimes, think crazy man-eating rotweillers--to surrender a cup of semen (or a fluid like it)?

What does not occur to the Conservative power maniacs who advocate things like this and total information awareness is that criminals do not always get busted by the cops. Sometimes the cops are dead wrong, or they center on the wrong guy, giving the actual villain the time to escape. Sometimes cops are simply negligent. Sometimes the President lets Kenneth "Kenny Boy" Lay escape with the loot in hand.

If people don't come together and oppose this police state power grab, then we'll be sticking micro chip trackers up our babies' rear ends pretty damn soon.

And one more thing.

God just informed me that he wants a word with the radical liberty attackers. I can't deny the big man upstairs of shit, so here it is:

Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.

The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;

Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.

Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Lord.

Let them melt away as waterswhich run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.

As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.

Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take themaway as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.

The righteous shall rejoice when seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

So that a manshall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.
Hallelujah, Amen.
